The Olympic Triangle The program is designed to help Race Officers set Olympic courses using a laptop and a couple of hand-held GPS .  For a line start the GPS position of the committee boat is entered and the length of the line calculated from the number and length of competitors boats. The required distance to the leeward mark, in front or behind the line is added and the length of the beat and wind direction. The program then has enough information to calculate the GPS position of all the marks. Finally it will calculate the angle and distance of the marks from the committee boat, which is easier for the mark layers.
